Freyssinet sponsors the 2016 Eugène Freyssinet Trophy and its new prize for students
The Association Eugène Freyssinet, with
sponsorship from Freyssinet, is organising the third Eugène Freyssinet
Trophy awards. Among others, these awards will recognise students from
French institutions and universities who have designed works that further
the art of building.
The 2016 Eugène Freyssinet Trophy awards
will include a new prize aimed at recognising students from French institutions
and universities who have designed works that further the art of building.
The work must have been completed during the 2014/2015 or 2015/2016 academic
years as part of a final year placement. The Panel will focus particularly
on candidates' intellectual rigour, quest for progress and technical curiosity.
If you would like to be a candidate for
the Eugène Freyssinet Trophy Student Award, simply register your interest
web site and upload your full application by 15 July 2016 at the latest.
All applications will be examined by a Selection Committee chaired by Freyssinet's
Technical Director, Erik Mellier. Short-listed applications will then be
considered by the Panel, chaired by Michel Virlogeux. The prizes will be
awarded at a ceremony to be held in Paris in late 2016. The winner of the
Student Award will receive a cheque for 1,000 euros.
The Eugène Freyssinet Trophy was set up
in 2011. It aims to honour and reward those who have advanced the art of
building through creativity, bold innovation and a desire for progress,
as inspired by the teachings of Eugène Freyssinet. In addition to the Student
Award, the following prizes will also be awarded at the 2016 Eugène Freyssinet
- two Grand Prizes in recognition of the
careers of two leading figures, one French and one foreign,
- Prizes to honour the designers of structures
or works inspired by the spirit of Eugène Freyssinet.
