The progress made on the West Gate Tunnel in Melbourne

We are excited to share the impressive progress made on our major infrastructure project in Melbourne, Australia: the West Gate Tunnel.
The scope of work of our teams includes the installation of post-tensioning for the viaduct piers and spans, the installation of precast columns and the erection of segmental spans using a bespoke launching girder.
After the installation of all precast elements of the substructure and the launching gantry operation which started in September 2021, the worksite is well underway. Freyssinet is installing 1,700t of 15.7mm PC strand in the bridge deck. The completion of launching gantry operation is estimated for September 2023.
Our teams are fully committed to meet the technical, environmental and safety challenges expected in this project, with a completion date set for end of 2023.
